Why is density measurement so important?
- Measurement of the density in the is an important factor in handling the excess residual water. Only if the density in the residual water basin is known, the recipe can be adjusted accordingly and a high quality concrete can be guaranteed.
- According to the DIN EN1008 standard, it is even mandatory to measure the density in the residual water basin once a day, otherwise it is not allowed to use the water for the concrete production.
How does the density measurement work?
- The AJF density meter is based on the principle of light ray absorption. Light rays are transmitted between two special lenses and the medium flows in between. The resulting light beams are detected and thus the density is determined.
- In the overall system, the water from the agitator basin is pumped from the residual water basin through to the density sensor and flows back into the basin. The reader unit outputs the determined density value on the display and can also be transferred as a signal to the batching plant control system.
- Possibility to start the measurement either manually or automatically. The cycle times between the measurements can also be freely set if required.
What has to be considered to install the system?
In order to obtain the best measurement result, the positioning of the measuring head is of great importance. Turbulence in the basin caused by the agitator can have an influence to the measurement result. In addition, there may be cakes between the lenses, which also affect the measurement result.
